November's meeting with Ari Cowan

Ari Cowan, our local mycologist, gave a talk on the adaptation of the forest community when fire moves through the land. One interesting point was the fact that fungi recolonize the soil depending on the heat and the duration of the fire. The diversity of fungi found on the roots of Ponderosa Pine seedlings after a fire was astounding. 35 people attended the limited meeting and recently gathered mushrooms filled a small table.
