Oregon Psilocybin Society seeks to legalize mushrooms for therapy

 Ballot measure 109 is on the ballot for this November. If the petition passes, it will create access to psilocybin services throughout Oregon and lower the penalties for possession of psilocybin to a violation.

September Meeting with Beth Johnson attended by 30+ on Zoom

Beth Johnson, botanist on the Deschutes National Forest in the Sisters Ranger District, shared her experience with a handful of rare and sensitive fungi species in our forests. Her work involves monitoring and surveying areas for those identified fungi that may need protection. All commercial Matsutake picking permits will be done online this fall and are FREE!

Oregon (Sept. 3, 2020) — Beginning next Tuesday and continuing into early November the Deschutes, Fremont-Winema and Willamette National Forests will provide an authorizing letter at no cost to allow for Matsutake collection, transport and sale instead of a paid permit. This interim change to the matsutake permitting process is a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and an effort to maximize social distancing measures to the extent possible.
